Hey there,
I’m Matthieu Vitoux, and thank you for visiting my blog on video game marketing!
I’m passionate about video games and marketing, so writing about both really excites me.
Marketing is highly personal to me, and I have seen many unique and diverse approaches to it. In this blog, you won’t find a recipe for the perfect game marketing campaign, but rather a broader approach to marketing your game.
This blog’s goal is to give indie developers key tools and insights to improve their games’ marketability.
A few things about me
- I’m the Marketing Director at Nine Dots Studio in Québec City, where I lead the marketing of Outward 2, the sequel to the cult survival RPG Outward.
- I’ve spent 10+ years in video game and entertainment marketing, at Ubisoft, Wizards of the Coast and Twin Sails Interactive (Asmodee group) before joining Nine Dots.
- I’m a fan of RPGs, management games, roguelites and deck-builders.
Working on both AAA and indie games is what drives me to share insights about the elements that make a game marketable.
My approach is “player-first”: focus on what players want (and secretly need), and build your game’s communication around it.
